Special education music therapy sessions typically begin with a hello song and end with a goodbye song. In addition to working on social skills, these songs provide a predictable transition into and out of the musical setting. An instrumental version is available for download if you wish to alter the lyrics for your own purposes. The verse lyrics “music’s done” can be changed to “class is done” for teachers or “the day is done” for parents. Chorus lyrics can be altered depending on situation or verbal ability: goodbye, buh-bye, bye, (wave), or goodnight.
