I Love Myself

Look Mom! I’m in a music video!

Back in May, I responded to a Facebook post from my buddy Celia…

We are making a music video for the song “I LOVE MYSELF” from the new FIRE DOG record “FOR THE KIDS!”

Join Little Celia and her puppet friends along with FIRE DOG for a video shoot at Rainbow Park @ Taylor and Gibson Avenue.

and her follow-up post…

BRING AWESOME STUFF LIKE: HULA HOOPS * POGO STICKS * JUGGLING BALLS * COSTUMES * FACEPAINTS * SIGNS/POSTERS * STILTS * PUPPETS * UNICYCLES * MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS * FRIENDS * YOUR AWESOME SELF.

I didn’t have any unicycles or pogo sticks so I brought my 12-string acoustic guitar and a couple sets of Boomwhackers for the kids. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day to have a musical party in the park. It took them more than six months to complete the video… and I can see why now. In addition to the park footage, there are also tons of scenes in shot in various locations in The Grove and lots of animation. I think it turned out awesome! Check it out…

If your kids (or you) are tired of watching singing purple dinosaur videos, I suggest you check out Fire Dog – or their two singers, Celia and Mark. They perform regularly around St. Louis at kid-friendly venues like libraries, coffee houses, museums, and parks. The best way to keep up to date on future shows is to follow them on Facebook: Fire DogCelia, and Little Celia.
