Dollar Bills

Music Therapy dollar bill identification and value video & song for special needs individuals.
Goal 1: Client will identify the 4 most common US dollar bills: one-dollar bill, five-dollar bill, ten-dollar bill, and twenty-dollar bill.
Goal 2: Client will state the values of the 4 most common US dollar bills: $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, and $20.00.
Domains: Academics, Math, Language

This project introduces children to the names and values of the 4 most common US dollar bills. The chorus first sings the names and then the values:

Here’s a one-dollar bill
Here’s a five-dollar bill
Here’s a ten-dollar bill
Here’s a twenty-dollar bill
It’s worth $1.00
It’s worth $5.00
It’s worth $10.00
It’s worth $20.00

The verses of the song ask two questions:

What is this bill called?

and

How much is it worth?

While the order of the bills remains the same in all four choruses, it is altered in each of the four verses. The first and second choruses and verses display the fronts of the bills. The third and fourth choruses and verses display the backs of the bills.

There is a teaching version of the video in which the correct answers are sung, and a testing version of the video for your student to provide the answers. There is a regular song (the song from the teaching video) and a fill-in-the-blank song (the song from the testing video). Songs can be used if you want to test less than 4 bills at a time, use different bill visuals, or even use real dollar bills.
